More Homeschool Resources

Okay.  Yesterday I posted lots of Waldorf homeschooling resources, but there are lots of other great groups and conferences out there!  Here’s what I’ve found so far…

Advocates for Home Education in Massachusetts (AHEM):  this is a great place to start (particularly if you live in Massachusetts!!).  I got my original homeschool reading list from this site.  They have lots of great information!!

Homeschooling Together – Arlington/Belmont (and surrounding areas) homeschooling group.  The group is not affiliated with any particular kind of homeschooling, so you’ll meet a wide variety on people in this Yahoo Group and at their events!

Voyager’s Coop in Acton, MA – First and foremost, Voyagers is a community. Located in Acton, Massachusetts, it is a secular, multicultural, inclusive, energetic group of over 70 families…  Voyagers Coop is not a school; it does not keep academic records, prescribe curricula, or assign grades. Families who participate in our programs retain full responsibility for their children’s education.

Revels – is a group that celebrates the seasons through the power of traditional song, dance, storytelling, and ritual from cultures around the world.  In Watertown (MA) there is a weekly program of songs, singing games, and part-singing for home-schooled children.  I’VE ADDED THIS TO THE WALDORF HOMESCHOOLING PAGE AS WELL.

Unschooling Conference in Wakefield, MA – August 22 to 25  “Come to the Northeast Unschooling Conference, an annual gathering for unschooling families (and those interested in unschooling) to enjoy a community for learning and fun and to meet others for whom Life is a Joyful Adventure.  Hear amazing speakers, experience great entertainment, and enjoy all the wonderful unschooling kids, teens, and adults.”  I’VE ADDED THIS TO THE UNSCHOOLING PAGE AS WELL.
