It is with such a heavy heart that I share the unimaginably tragic news that my dear friend Heather and her children have lost their husband/father. While I have been paralyzed by my grief (on behalf of this heartbroken family), another family has taken action. They have created an on-line fundraiser to set up a trust for the children, in an effort to relieve some of the financial burden as this amazing family embarks on a new chapter in their lives.
I feel so grateful to the Moody family for setting up the fundraiser and giving me – and others – a way to help. And I am in awe of Heather’s strength (in truth, I always have been…well before this tragedy occurred) and her bravery in sharing her family’s story and accepting help. And so I share this opportunity with all of you, my loyal readers. The opportunity to help a truly wonderful family.

And here is the text from the Website:
After a long struggle with psychiatric illness, Jason Spratley took his own life on January 10, 2013. The heartbroken family he leaves behind includes his wife, Heather, and their three young children, Owen (age 6), Olivia (age 3), and Lucas (age 10 months).
As our love and sympathy go out to the family, many of us are wondering what more we can do to help Heather and the children in the days, weeks and years to come. Any donations you make here go directly toward a trust that is being set up for the children. Please give what you can and share this website with your friends and anyone who can help.
The family is deeply grateful for all the support and love they are receiving.
