Cow Ratings for Organic Milk

Kumi (our beyond-fabulous babysitter & friend) and I were just talking about how not all Organic milk is created equally.  The cornucopia Institute publishes an Organic Dairy Cow Rating report.  The big surprise in the cow ratings is Trader Joe’s!  Just 1 cow (out of 5 possible cows).  Target, BJ’s and Costco scored equally poorly.  Not good.  Even Stop and Shop does better with 2 cows.

Whole Foods does very well, 4 cows.  As does Stonyfield.  And since you can get Stonyfield at almost any grocery store, I guess it’s not a good option to run into Trader Joe’s for milk.  Bummer.
