Vision Board – New Approach!

2012 Vision Board

Okay.  Last night after I finished my original vision board post, I was sitting on the couch looking at my 2012 vision board.  I moved it to the mantel in the living room as I decided it needed a more central location (have I mentioned that my husband is really quite tolerant?).  Anyway…as I was looking at it, I realized two things:

1.  I had manifested the biggest, most important thing on that board:  LAUREN!  We got that baby’s referral back in October!!  When I made the board in January we STILL didn’t have our official approval from China.  That was actually my main reason for making the board.  I pasted one of Lauren’s referral pictures into a photo of Rob, Keira, and me.  And very soon after that, all of our approvals/documents/plane tickets came together!  We traveled in February.  And I am so grateful!  So grateful to the universe for making yet another perfect match for our family.  Lauren is home, safe and sound.  And our lives are infinitely more full with her in it.

2.  The other thing that I noticed is that picture of the empty beach chair.  When I finally got my act together to go up to Gloucester to meet some girlfriends on Monday, it was like heaven on earth.  That offer had been totally available to me for over a month!!  But I was in a funk and I just couldn’t get out of my own way.  But I got there!  And boy did all of the energy that I exerted getting there come back to me, like a 100 times over!  Similarly, my b-i-l and s-i-l have issued us an open invitation to visit them in Falmouth.  So we are going!  Caroline, how’s Monday?!

It feels like I am just getting start on this topic!  But I was up with Lauren for what seemed like an eternity last night, so I am out of steam for this evening.  Thank you for everyone, for taking the time to read my bossy pants* blog.  I am grateful.  Love, Tracy

*note:  if you haven’t read Tina Fey’s Bossy Pants autobiography, log onto your library or amazon and order it!  It is hysterical!!

  1. This blog is great Tracy. I love reading it and have been thinking about your vision boards since last summer. I even bought poster board. But as of yet, no pictures. So sad. Baby steps I guess. Keep writing!

    • Marlena!! You are so sweet to follow my blog! Your family was one of the many gifts of our summer of homelessness!! I just wrote the same thing to Andrea — I was just mentioning to my friend Elizabeth that she should do another vision board session. I’ll let you know when she sets a date – we can drive down to her house together!!

  2. I’m so intrigued by these vision boards! First thing that popped out at me is that this board is less full/ busy looking than the last. Curious to know why that might be? Or maybe it’s just coincidence…

    • Hmm…good question…I had made a 2011 vision board as part of this women’s group that I belonged to. That board was soooo busy. I ended up thinking way too much about the board and trying to cram way too much onto it**. I hated it. In fact, one afternoon Keira and I used big metal cooking spoons to smash it (Nope! I have NO idea where she gets her anger management issues from)!! So when I did the 2012 board I really wanted to make sure that I didn’t repeat my mistake from the previous year. I did the whole 2012 board in an evening, whereas I did the house board over the course of a week or so…so I guess that the house board looks more complete/full. I think as long as you don’t get into a place where you are thinking more than just feeling as you flip through magazines (cutting out whatever you’re drawn to), you’ll be okay! I was just mentioning to Elizabeth that she should do another vision board session. I need a work/abundance board. I’ll let you know when she sets a date so you can join us!! I’ll bring the wine.
**Now that I think about it, that women’s group was way too busy, too!! There was way too much talking/perseverating. Can I write b-tching on a blog? I guess I can since it’s mine. The group was much like the board…

      • So neat! I was wondering if the less crowded looking board was a reflection of your contentment level or if it was more a measure of increased focus. Boards and wine sound DELIGHTFUL, def let me know;o)
